Why “Almost Naked”?

I’ve always been very passionate about food and fitness, but I could never seem to find the right balance between the two. Even though I exercised a lot, I always felt very bloated and sluggish. It wasn’t until I started my fitness journey, and cut out virtually everything and slowly reintroduced foods, where I realized that it was certainly the type of food I was putting into my body that made me feel that way. Although I’ve always been a free spirit and enjoyed being naked, I never entirely felt good naked. After some trial and error with foods, I started to take note of how I felt after eating certain foods. I noticed that it is possible to eat a nice sized meal and still feel like you have a flat stomach, I did not know this to be true! Using “naked” ingredients (or close to “naked”) for flavour profiles, instead of pre-packaged items, I engaged with and enjoyed playing around with different spices and herbs to flavour my foods. I found that it’s truly SO simple and can be incredibly flavourful. My coach used to always say, “KISS – Keep It Simple Stupid!”

The easiest way to keep things simple is to keep things as naked as possible, and try not to play around with them too much (other naked things are really fun to play around with, but not so much with food haha.) So once you try cutting things out, even for a short period of time, you really learn to appreciate foods at their most natural form. And hopefully, you’ll be learning to appreciate yourself and your body as its most natural form, too!

I would love nothing more than to share what I’ve come up with along the way and how easy it is to keep things simplistic – yet exciting. Eating healthier can be intimidating and some think it can result in boring or bland food, that’s truly not accurate at all as creating healthy recipes is incredibly fun and the options are endless!

I hope to inspire people to use my videos and recipes as fun templates to get into the kitchen and get creative making recipes that’ll ultimately make you feel good naked! I encourage one to utilize my videos and recipes as more of a base list of ingredients and to experiment with! Don’t stress about having everything exactly, that’s the fun in it! I generally find fun recipes online and experiment with how I can adjust them to my personal liking and dietary preferences, or just with what I have laying around the kitchen – it’s SO fun!! That’s how you discover hidden gem recipes true to you when you experiment with what you’ve got! ;P

I believe in being imperfectly perfect, so things do not need to be followed perfectly as you do not need to have exactly all ingredients listed; And this is where the fun begins! Be sure to tag The Almost Naked Chef on Instagram or YouTube with what you come up with! I would love to see!! <3

Being naked is a beautiful thing and we shouldn’t be ashamed of our bodies, or what we are putting in them!

Miranda Mae’s Story

B*tch don’t Kale my vibe.

Welcome friends! Thank you kindly for visiting my website, I’m your “Almost” Naked Chef! I’m a self taught home cook that LOVES creating amazing, simple and fun recipes. I love experimenting with “naked” or “almost naked” ingredients. The more you keep things simple and pure the easier and healthier things will be. I want to display an exciting and easy approach to eating healthy – or almost healthy! 😉

In 2016 I went through an intense fitness journey, losing 62lbs all from changing my diet and implementing consistent exercise into my life. I didn’t want to be that person who just gave up on flavourful foods and accepted that healthy food had to be bland and boring. I found it to be incredible using natural herbs, spices and ingredients altogether! It’s endless what a person can create and enjoy with healthy ingredients & I’d love nothing more than to share the excitement with you!

My goal is to share my journey and to inspire others to understand that no matter what your starting point is, changing the way you look at food is the best way to live your life! Embracing foods as is, or as close to as is, embracing yourself and your body, is truly what pure beauty is all about!

Naked foods are beautiful foods; Naked bodies are beautiful bodies -embrace being naked!
